MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Marquette is facing numerous charges after a Michigan State Police investigation into child sexual predators in the Marquette area.
Royce Hagemeister, 41, is charged with accosting a child for immoral purposes, child sexually abusive activity, and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
During the investigation, an MSP trooper posed as a minor on an investigative social media account. MSP said Hagemeister began talking to and soliciting her to meet up for sex in numerous messages.
On Sept. 7, 2022, a female trooper assisted as a decoy near Marquette High School. Detectives conducted surveillance and observed Hagemeister exit his apartment. As he approached the decoy, he was taken in custody.
Hagemeister is lodged at the Marquette County Jail and was arraigned on Sept. 15 in Marquette County District Court.
