The Marquette Marathon is this weekend. Packet pick-up is available for racers starting at 3 PM on Friday, September 2nd at the Superior Dome in Marquette. Race packets will also be available for pick up on the morning of the race.
Presque isle park will be closed on Saturday to motor vehicles for The Marquette marathon. Park closure will begin at 7 am and open back up at 2:30 pm. Pine street will also be closed on Saturday from 5 am to 2:30 pm for the race.
The annual Marquette marathon, half marathon, and 5k will be held on September 3 with the kid’s fun run on September 2. The kid’s fun run will begin at 6 pm on Friday at the multi-use path on Pine street.
Saturday, full marathon runners will take off at 7:30 AM from Ishpeming, runners are expected to arrive around 8:30 am on the iron ore heritage trail.
The race will cross through streets including Wilson, McClellan, Fifth, Fourth, Third, Front, Lakeshore, Baraga, Hampton, Island Beach, and Hawley.
