Overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan, ‘Burn Pits’ are continuously billowing through harsh chemicals and toxins that cause a lot of later injury in our Veterans. After coming home, Veterans can experience serious respiratory illnesses which have life-long effects. The ‘P.A.C.T. ACT’ or Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics, aids Veterans who might’ve been exposed to these harmful chemicals.
By providing high-quality healthcare screenings and expanding their VA Healthcare access, there are more Veterans reaching out to seek help.
These heroes are also able to utilize the ‘Fairness to Veterans ACT’. In a great majority, it can be difficult to ask for help for injuries we can’t see. This new piece of legislation focuses on helping those with PTSD and other “Invisible wounds of war”.
