Aspirus Health plans to start construction on a new hospital in Ontonagon in the coming months, it announced Tuesday.
The health system said it is finalizing plans on the new, $15.8 million facility.
It will offer a variety of services under one roof including family medicine, specialty care, outpatient therapies, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services and more.
“The new facility will allow us to keep delivering vital services close to home and conveniently coordinate appointments for ancillary services the same day,” said Christine Harff, Aspirus U.P. Regional President.
The current hospital will remain open and service the community while the new facility is built, Aspirus officials said.
