MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Marquette City’s annual winter parking ban begins on Sunday, November 1.
While in effect, parking on the side of any city street between the hours of 1 a.m. through 6 a.m. will result in a $75 parking ticket. Police Captain James Finkbeiner says this ensures people are prepared for plowing during the winter season, even before the area sees any snowfall.
“It’s a big fine, with the possibility of your car getting towed if it’s impeding snow removal,” he said. “Find that off-street parking as early as you can now, so that you’re used to doing it when the snow does hit and we start ticketing.”
The parking ban will be in effect through April 1, 2027.
