MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Gwinn resident has been hospitalized following a motorcycle crash in Marquette.
Just before midnight on September 10, the Marquette Police Department responded to a crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Division Street and M-553. Preliminary investigation showed that while traveling westbound on Division Street, the motorcycle lost control and tipped over, ejecting the driver onto the pavement. The driver and motorcycle came to rest in the intersection.
The driver, a 26-year-old Gwinn resident, was not wearing a helmet. They were transported from the scene to UPHS – Marquette, where they are being treated for serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. The Marquette Police Department was assisted by the Michigan State Police, the Marquette Fire Department, and UPHS – Marquette EMS.
