MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A summer concert series returns to Schoolcraft County next week.
Now on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m., Music in Manistique will take place each Thursday from June 18 to August 20. The lineup includes nearly a dozen artists, with genres ranging from classic rock to country. Highlights include a polka night on June 25, as well as an appearance by the Petoskey Steel Drum Band on Monday, July 13.
“It’s what summer’s about,” said Katie Birdsley, Operations Manager at the Lake Effect Community Arts Center. “It’s about being outside in nature. Have you ever seen a little old couple just dancing to their wedding song, kids throwing a football, and people rolling down the hill? Seeing people show up, seeing how much they love it, and seeing how much their cups are filled really fills our cup.”
On rainy days, Music in Manistique will move indoors to the Little Bear Arena, located next to the bandshell on North Maple Street. To see the full list of performers, visit the Music in Manistique Facebook page.
