NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A shooting investigation in Marquette led to a dramatic police pursuit and fiery crash Tuesday night in Negaunee. Police say officers responded to a disturbance on West Baraga Avenue.
When they arrived, they found one man suffering from gunshot wounds, and another man was wounded, both with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect reportedly then fled the scene but was quickly located by michigan state police. A high-speed chase then ensued, ending when the suspect crashed into fuel pumps at the Krist Gas Station on U.S. 41 in Negaunee.
The crash sparked a large fire, which closed down the intersection. The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to U.P. Health System Marquette.
Authorities say all parties involved knew each other, the incident was isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation remains ongoing.
