ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Escanaba Public Library is partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to offer the Gather 2 Grow summer meal program.
The program provides free grab-and-go sack lunches for local youth throughout the summer. Running June 10 through September 8, free lunches will be available every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Escanaba Public Library. The program is open to all youth ages 18 and under, as well as disabled adults up to age 26.
A variety of meal options will be available, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices. All meals are nut-free. Lunches may not be eaten inside the library.
The Gather 2 Grow program is designed to help ensure children and young adults continue to have access to nutritious meals during the summer months, when school meal programs may not be available.
“We are excited to partner with Feeding America West Michigan to help support families in our community this summer,” said Youth Programs Coordinator Brianna Ecklid-LaVigne. “This program helps make sure young people have access to healthy meals in a welcoming and accessible location.”

The Escanaba Public Library is located at 400 Ludington Street. For additional information, call (906) 789-7323.
