MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Symphony Orchestra will hold the final performance of its 2025-26 season this weekend.
On Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Kaufman Auditorium, the orchestra will conclude its concert season with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 Op. 67 in C minor, a very familiar piece.
The final concert will also include accompaniment by this year’s Young Artist Competition winner. Each year, the MSO holds a competition to feature a soloist from a unique group of instruments.
This year, the band will be joined by alto saxophonist, Nathan Salazar, performing Arthur Wang’s Fanfare and Andre Waignein’s Rhapsody for Saxophone and Orchestra.
“Nathan stood out because of his musicianship, his control of the technique, his sound, the way that he projects, and the way that he performed the piece he submitted,” said MSO Director, Octavio Más-Arocas. “It was just really great and the audience is going to love it.”
Tickets for the concert can be found here, or at the Superior Dome ticketing office.
