MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – College H.U.N.K.S. of Marquette is setting a collection goal throughout the month of April.
The company’s ‘Community Cleanout Challenge’ has a goal to collect and weigh in at least 10,000 lbs. of various items. In line with Earth Month, Franchise Owner Maxfield Dukler says a majority of useable items will be selected for donations, to avoid addition to the local landfill. These can range from old couches to electronics, in decent shape or not.
College H.U.N.K.S. stands for Honest, Uniformed, Nice, and Knowledgeable Service. Currently, the company is reaching a busy time in operation, with spring cleaning around the corner and a large amount of students moving in and out of residencies.
“We like to give back to the community, so helping clean up the U.P. right before summertime is a big deal,” said Dukler. “Our goal is to donate 75% of all of the items that we get, what we can’t donate will go to the landfill, but we’ll try our best to donate everything.”
The company also says if the Community Cleanout Challenge is mentioned when service is requested, a discount can be applied. Those services can be accessed by calling (906) 250-9275, or visiting their website here.
