Finished second in Wildcats’ all-time scoring with 2,197 points
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan men’s basketball standout Dylan Kuehl has been named a D2CCA First Team All-American, capping off one of the most decorated seasons and careers in program history.
Kuehl is one of the few Wildcats to earn national All-American recognition, becoming the first Wildcat to earn D2CCA All-America honors and the first NCAA All-American since Bill Harris earned NABC First Team recognition in 1987.
A graduate senior from Iron Ridge, Wisconsin, Kuehl was previously named the D2CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year, becoming the first player in program history to earn the region’s top honor. He also swept GLIAC Player of the Year and GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors, establishing himself as one of the most complete players in Division II.
Kuehl led the Wildcats to a 27-6 overall record and a GLIAC regular-season championship, averaging 21.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 55.2% from the field. In conference play, he elevated his performance to 23.8 points per game, leading the GLIAC, while ranking among the league leaders in field-goal percentage, blocks, and rebounding.
On the national stage, Kuehl ranked among the top 15 in Division II in scoring and consistently delivered in big moments. He closed the regular season with one of the most dominant performances in program history, scoring a career-high 41 points on 15-20 shooting to clinch the GLIAC title against Parkside. The performance also included nine rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.
He finished his career ranked second in program history with 2,197 points.
In the classroom, Kuehl has also excelled, holding a 3.65 GPA as a graduate student in Construction Management.
