Tomashek scored in double figures in 33 of 34 of the Huskies’ games
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second-straight season, Michigan Tech men’s basketball senior guard Marcus Tomashek has been tabbed to the NABC All-District First Team, the NABC announced on Monday.
Tomashek, a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, produced a season to remember, leading the Huskies to a program-record-tying 29 wins, their first-ever Midwest Region Championship, and a second consecutive GLIAC regular season title. He has surpassed 700 points in a season for the second straight year, totaling 734 points and counting.
Tomashek has earned First Team All-GLIAC, D2CCA All-Region First Team, and Midwest Region Tournament MVP honors. He has also been named to the Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List and the Trevor Hudgins Award Top 15 Watch List.
Starting all 34 games this season, he averages 21.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 39.3 percent from the field, 37.2 percent from three-point range, and 78.5 percent from the free-throw line. He scored in double figures in 33 games, recording nine 20-point performances and eight games of 30 or more points, highlighted by a season-high 39 points against Lynn on Dec. 20.
He ranks second all-time in program history and also paces the NCAA Division II active career leaderboard in total points (2,447), scoring average (19.9), three-point field goals made (344), field goal attempts (1,895), and three-point attempts (930), while ranking fourth in field goals made (782), free throws attempted (680), and free throws made (539).
