NCAA Regional Qualifier is February 21
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Northern Michigan wrestling team competed in duals against the UW-Stevens Point Pointers on Friday night, falling 32-14. The Wildcats finished 10-4 in duals this season.
The Wildcats fell behind 10-0 by forfeiting the 103 and 110 weight classes.
Stevens Point won the first contested match at 117 to move ahead 14-0, but NMU got on the board at 124 when Jamie Cook won by fall at 1:54.
The Pointers responded with back-to-back victories at 131 and 138, along with another forfeit at 145, to lead 26-6.
At 160, Sophia Bassino secured a 12-1 tech fall win in 3:30 to make the score 27-10, and Abbie Miles followed with a 10-0 tech fall win at 2:59 to move it to 27-14. The Pointers rounded out the night with a win at 207 for the 32-14 final score.
Ruby Joseph, Abigale Swanson, and Clarissa Wangen all added exhibition victories at 180.
