Second time this season
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan women’s basketball standout Jacy Weisbrod has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after she led the No. 16 Wildcats to a pair of home wins this past weekend, improving their record to 17-3.
The senior opened her weekend by scoring 21 points in a 94-54 thumping of Purdue Northwest. She converted 6-10 three-point attempts and added two steals. On Saturday against Wayne State, she once again scored 21 points, backed by a 5-7 mark from beyond the arc, in a 91-71 victory. She tacked on five rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal.
This season, Weisbrod paces all GLIAC players with 17.3 points per game. She is shooting 44.9% from the floor and 43.1% from downtown. She is the nation’s leader in made three-pointers per game (3.53) and total makes (67). Weisbrod has connected on three or more triples in 13 games this season.
