MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A person of interest has been identified in the robbery of a Manistique business.
On December 22, a man entered The Apple Barrel convenience and liquor store on Deer Street. After a short conversation with an employee, he demanded money. The employee cooperated with his demand. The man then left the store on foot, ran across Deer Street, and continued north on North 1st Street.
On December 24, Manistique Public Safety announced that a person of interest has since been identified. The identification was made possible by the diligent efforts of Public Safety personnel, the Michigan State Police, and members of the public who provided information to investigators.
Officials thank the community for its cooperation in the investigation. The public is asked to refrain from providing any further suspects to allow investigators to concentrate all their efforts on one person of interest.
As the investigation remains ongoing, Manistique Public Safety has not released the name of its suspect.
