Ceglinski wins both diving events
ALLENDALE, Mich. – The #10 women’s swim and dive team competed well today, but would ultimately fall 138-104 to the #4 Grand Valley State Lakers.
The Wildcats found 13 podium positions, highlighted by five first-place finishes and nine second-place marks.
Kalina Ceglinski continues her torrid pace, as the diver claimed gold in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives today.
Evie DeCarlo claimed individual gold in the 200 IM, and Anika Wright finished first in the 500 free and second in the 1000 free and 400 medley relay.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Abby Keen, Joanne Arbic, Phini Schneider, and Vicky Burda ended the meet with gold over GVSU by 0.12 seconds.
Carlotta Santi claimed a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 and 500 free, and Laura Stockinger silver in both the 50 and 100 free.

How It Happened
The afternoon began with the 400 medley relay, with the NMU A team of Emma Casas (Back, 57.79), Evie DeCarlo (Breast, 1:03.29), Sophia Moore (Fly, 58.40), and Anika Wright (Free, 52.33) claiming silver with a time of 3:51.81. The NMU B team of Evangeline Pierce, Julia Zimpel, Phini Schneider, and Ellie Kilgard claimed fourth, and the NMU C team finished sixth.
There were four swimmers for the 1000 free, with Wright and Annika Geyer finishing second and third with respective times of 10:34.31 and 10:41.92.
The Wildcats laid claim to four of the top six spots in the 200 free, led by Carlotta Santi, earning an individual silver with her time of 1:56.48. Caitlin Aarseth, Ellie Kilgard, and Julia Plevak finished fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively.
In a tightly contested 50 free, Laura Stockinger claimed silver with her time of 24.53, just .10 seconds behind first place and .15 seconds ahead of third. Vicky Burda, Abby Keen, Casas, Joanne Arbic, and Tegan Rose claimed spots five through nine.
The team controlled the podium in the 200 IM, claiming both gold and bronze. DeCarlo swam a 2:07.21 to finish atop the podium, and Manuela Araujo claimed bronze in her first event with a time of 2:07.91, just 0.19 seconds from second place. Kenzie Stute claimed sixth, Moore eighth, Nadia Blackmore ninth, Zimpel 10th, and Pierce 11th.
Kalina Ceglinski continued her splendid run of diving today, starting by claiming gold in the 1-meter with her score of 264.30, beating second-place by 11 points. Grace Daly, Lillian Marx, and Josei Bossen finished fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively.
In her second event of the afternoon, Geyer found her second podium finish, claiming silver in the 200 fly with a time of 2:11.48. NMU claimed three of the top five spots, including Schneider in fourth and Plevak in fifth. Moore finished in seventh, and Pauline Izydorek placed ninth.
After silver in the 50 free, Stockinger added another second-place finish to her resume, this time in the 100 free, where she posted a time of 53.10. Burda and Keen finished fifth and sixth, and Arbic, Rose, Blackmore, Devine, and Millward placed eighth through 12th.
After competing in two events earlier in the meet, Pierce broke through in the 200 back, claiming silver with her time of 2:04.44, beating third place by two seconds. Casas, Aarseth, and Stute finished sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively.
The duo of Wright and Santi claimed gold and silver in the 500 free, as Wright would touch first at 5:07.91, followed by Santi in second at 5:10.55. Geyer also swam, claiming fifth at 5:15.92.
Ceglinski ended her meet by claiming gold in the 3-meter diving with her score of 250.73, edging out Emi Goto of GVSU by 1.65 points for first place. The freshmen group of Lillian Marx, Grace Daly, and Josie Bossen claimed spots seven, eight, and nine.
In her third event of the meet, Zimpel found the podium, claiming second in the 200 breast with her time of 2:22.74, edging Liv Geiger of GVSU by 0.03 seconds. Araujo and DeCarlo finished fourth and fifth with times of 2:23.71 and 2:24.55, respectively, and Bonini claimed eighth.
The Wildcats ended the meet with a bang, as the 200 free relay team of Keen (25.08), Arbic (23.85), Schneider (24.30), and Burda (24.32) claimed gold with a time of 1:37.55, edging the GVSU A relay team by 0.12 seconds. The NMU B and C teams finished fourth and fifth.
