CHIPPEWA COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – An 18-year-old driver from Dafter has been seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on southbound I-75 near 3 Mile Road in Soo Township at about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
According to MSP, the passenger car was traveling southbound on I-75 when the driver veered off the road into the median and lost control of the vehicle. The car rolled over, and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected. No other vehicles or passengers were involved in the crash.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to MyMichigan Medical Center Sault for treatment. MSP said drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the crash.
Both the southbound and northbound lanes of I-75 were partially closed while emergency personnel responded to the scene and troopers conducted their investigation which remains ongoing.
