LSCP holds inaugural ‘P3MQT’ event to boost economic development throughout Marquette County

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A new event held at Northern Michigan University focused on developing economic growth throughout Marquette County.

The Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) welcomed over 120 local economic leaders to ‘P3MQT’ Friday morning, standing for Partner, Progress, Prosper. The roughly six hour day featured a number of guest speakers and breakout sessions to discuss regional issues in housing, energy, air service, and employment rates.

Into the afternoon, guests were met with a panel of state legislators including Senator Ed McBroom and Karl Bohnak, as well as members of Representative Jack Bergman and U.S. Senator Gary Peters’ offices to speak on these matters.

The LSCP says the inaugural event was a great way to keep topics at a local standpoint.

“Here in Marquette County, we are fortunate to have all of the regional conversations, they all happen here because we’re very centralized,” said LSCP CEO, Christopher Germain. “This one is just about us, Marquette County specifically and what those opportunities and those challenges are.”

Also during the event, the LSCP utilized QR codes for real-time feedback to try and pull ideas into its next strategic plan. To view more events held by the LSCP, visit business.marquette.org.
