MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Northern Michigan University presidential search advisory committee held its second of four candidate forums today.
Dr. Ronald Hendrick was the guest of honor today during a series of meetings with faculty, staff, and, students. Hendrick serves as the provost and senior vice president at Texas Tech University, where he served in various roles of the administration.
Hendrick’s focus at Texas Tech included advancing academic success and scholarship diversity.
19 news spoke with Dr. Hendrick about what community means to a university.
“That connection to community is part of my schooling and through the other work that I’ve done. So that’s another piece that really resonates that connection to community is really part of my DNA, from my schooling and through the other work that I’ve done. So that’s another piece that really resonates with me, being able to work at a place that’s closely connected to the to the place it’s located, and the and the people there,” said Dr. Hendricks
The next presidential candidate will visit campus on October, 6th with the final candidate touring campus on October 9th.
