MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – With a little more than a year from election day 2026, a number of proposals are already moving toward appearing on Michigan’s 2026 ballot.
Currently, six proposals have received approval from the State Board of canvassers and are in the process of gathering signatures.
One proposal regarding a mandatory constitutional convention is already set to appear on the ballot.

AX my tax, a constitutional amendment that would prohibit property taxes. It would require 60% voter approval for local tax increases and a two thirds vote from the legislature for any state tax increase over point 1%
Invest in my kids, a constitutional amendment that would impose an additional 5% tax on annual taxable income over 500,000 for single filers and 1 million for joint filers, the revenue would be deposited into the state school aid fund and used in classrooms, career and technical education.
Michiganders for money out of politics, a ballot initiative seeking to ban political contributions from certain corporations with government contracts, including utility companies like DTE and Consumers Energy
Voters to stop pay cuts, a referendum that would repeal public act one of 2025 which altered Michigan’s minimum wage laws. Repealing the Act would lead to a higher minimum wage and require employers to pay tipped workers the full minimum wage over time.
Americans for citizen voting, a constitutional amendment that would require the Secretary of State to verify citizenship of all registered voters and rank my vote, a constitutional amendment that would implement rank choice voting for certain federal and state offices
