ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Local theatre group Players de Noc will kick off their 2025 – 2026 season this weekend.
The Players de Noc production of Don’t Mention My Name opens at Bay College’s Besse Theater on Friday. The play tells the story of a man who cannot remember who he is. However, everyone he meets seems to know him, and they all call him by a different name.
Director Laura Haagensen says Don’t Mention My Name is a hilarious, family-friendly show with twists and turns that will keep audiences entertained.
“I’ve seen this show probably dozens of times at this point,” she said. “I still giggle, especially during certain parts! It’s a good reason to go out and have fun for a night and just forget your troubles.”
This is the first show the Players de Noc will perform since the fire at the Bonifas Theater in May. Haagensen says the cast and crew thank Bay College for the opportunity to use the Besse Theater while repairs are being done.
“We already had the season set, so we had to find a place to actually do our shows,” said Haagensen. “Bay College really welcomed us, and we are so happy to have partnered with them. Everyone is so excited to just be back in action again.”
Don’t Mention My Name begins at 7:30 p.m. September 26 – 27 and October 2 – 4. There will be a 1:30 p.m. matinee performance on September 28. Tickets will be available at the door, and they can be purchased in advance at the Bonifas Arts Center and at playersdenoc.org.
