MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The City of Marquette has been presented with its 2024 Audit Report. On Monday evening, the board of commission was shown the finalized Annual Comprehensive Report, ending on September 30, 2024.
The presentation wasn’t as long as previous years — as the document detailed a clean summary, reporting ‘No New Findings’ throughout the year, meaning the city was able to keep in line with legality and fairness throughout its contracting, granting and budgeting.
“With this, the financial position is pretty steady going forward with many of our funds,” said City Manager of Marquette, Karen Kovacs. “It’s really just continuing on the path forward that we have, with paying down some of that debt and just maintaining what we have.”
The board says it’s an honorable achievement for Marquette.
In the near future, the commission will be holding its budgeting meeting for the fiscal year of 2026.
