NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WMZQ) – The Friends of the Negaunee Public Library held an outdoor book sale today to support the public library. The sale was on the Negaunee City Hall lawn and included both donated books and former library books no longer in use. Money rised from the sale will go to support the library’s summer reading programs and fill any other gaps in funding.
“Back when we had a budget freeze in 2020 they bought all of the new books and audio books so we could keep getting books into the hands of people when we weren’t able to buy anything,” said Negaunee Public Library Director Jessica Holman. “The Friends of The Library are pretty essential when funding is uncertain.”
The next summer book sale from the Friends of the Negaunee Public Library will be on Thursday July 10 during pioneer days at the Negaunee Senior Center.
