ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – A convenience store and fuel station chain is quickly expanding its presence in the U.P.
Over the last few years, Kwik Trip has established locations in Sands Township, Gwinn, and Iron Mountain. Two new locations are soon to be built in Escanaba and Ishpeming.
As previously reported, the Escanaba location will replace the former Super One building on North Lincoln Road. The first physical work on the site began this week.
In July, Kwik Trip Real Estate Vice President Scott Teigen told WZMQ 19 that the Escanaba store would be nearly 10,000 square feet and feature ten to twelve gas pumps. The business is expected to bring 40 to 50 new jobs to the area.
According to a Kwik Trip representative, the Escanaba fuel station is set for a tentative completion on November 7 of this year. The chain also hopes to have its Ishpeming location finished by October 17.
