GWINN Mich. (WZMQ) – Feeding America of West Michigan’s mobile food pantry made a stop in KI Sawyer on Wednesday.
Hundreds of vegetables, meats, drinks and snacks were handed out to families from the surrounding areas. Some of the distributed foods came fresh from local farms, with potatoes grown in Sagola, fish from Sault St. Marie, and ground pork from Chatham.
At the site, volunteers were very glad to give back to the community.
“I like helping people,” said volunteer Hattie Rhoades. “Everyone needs to eat, and everyone needs to have the ability to have food at their homes. Why not help, you know?”
