Wildcats are the third seed
INDIANAPOLIS – The Northern Michigan women’s basketball team has earned an at-large bid into the 2025 Division II NCAA Tournament, marking the second straight season the Wildcats are in the big dance. At 22-8, Northern will be the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region and will take on No. 6 Hillsdale (21-9) at noon on Friday, March 14 at host Grand Valley State.
Also in the region, No. 1 Grand Valley (32-2) will play No. 8 Quincy (25-7) at 5 pm. No. 2 Ashland (30-3) will contend with No. 7 Ferris State (21-11) at 2:30 pm. And No. 4 Wayne State (19-11) will battle with No. 5 Lewis (26-3) at 7:30 pm.
Northern Michigan made the Round of 32 last season by defeating Kentucky Wesleyan 69-56 before falling to Grand Valley 72-44.
