Fourth time this season
HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech forward Elias Jansson was named the CCHA Rookie of the Week the league announced on Monday. It’s Jansson’s fourth weekly rookie honor and the eighth time a Husky has been recognized with the award this season.
Elias Jansson had a goal and two assists in the CCHA series against Ferris State. He assisted on Isaac Gordon’s two goals on Friday and scored the first goal of the game Saturday. Jansson leads the Huskies with 11 goals this season which leads CCHA rookies and ranks 10th in the NCAA amongst all freshmen. He also has 10 assists for 21 points which is tops in the conference for rookies.
Tech is 16-13-3 overall and 12-9-3 in the CCHA and wraps up its regular season this weekend at St. Thomas. The Huskies are currently tied for third in the CCHA standings with Bowling Green two points ahead of St. Thomas.
