MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Thursday marked National Love Your Pet Day. To celebrate, Queen City Running Company of Marquette took donations from community members, such as dog beds, toys, treats, and food, to go towards the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS).
“This was our first time doing this event,” said Paige DuBois, co-owner of Queen City Running. “we’re excited to shed light on all that they do, and to give them a nice donation.” After their run, the group met at the Ore Dock Brewery for a social hour. Queen City Running Company holds weekly ‘pub runs’ similar to this every Thursday night.
