Bernie Sanders campaigns in Marquette

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has been campaigning in Michigan all week for Kamala Harris. The longest-serving independent lawmaker in congressional history was in Marquette Sunday for a get-out-the-vote rally at the Northern Center in Marquette. Sanders’ visit to Marquette is part of a nationwide tour to make sure people get to the polls on election day. After being introduced by Michigan State Representative Jenn Hill, Sanders launched into some familiar topics such as affordable housing, access to healthcare, labor rights, and income inequality. The Northern Center’s grand ballroom was at capacity and standing room only, as people lined up hours in advance to hear Sanders speak.
