MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE NMU is reporting the suspect has been identified and apprehended. There is no further threat to the campus community at this time.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Northern Michigan University police have issued a warning text and email about a man said to be harassing and threatening the public on campus and in the Marquette area.
According to an email from the NMU Police Department sent to students, the person was involved in a verbal and physical confrontation in Lot 2 around 1 p.m. Thursday.
He is described as a white man, 20 to 30 years old, dark hair, wearing a gray sweatshirt and light-colored pants, a red backpack, and headphones, and riding an electric bicycle.
NMU police say the man should not be approached, and if seen, call 911. NMUPD and Marquette City Police Department are actively looking for the individual.
