MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On September 15th, UPaws is hosting a Spayghetti Dinner to raise money for its community spay and nuder program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the UPaws shelter community room. Tickets cost 10 dollars online, 12 dollars at the door, and children ages 5 and under cost 5 dollars.
The community spay and nuder program allows Marquette County residents who are low income to receive some financial help with the spay and nuder cost. As of now, the shelter is only able to complete 4 procedures per month, with the numbers rising the shelter needs to grow with them. All the funds from this fundraiser will go back into this program that gives back to the community.
“It to generate money for our community spay and nuder program, so we have a program that helps Marquette residents, Marquette county residents that are low incomes so if they can’t necessarily afford it we try to help in that respect of helping pay for the spay and nudering,” said Sarah Evers, UPaws shelter manager.
Tickets can be purchased on the UPaws website, and the UPaws Facebook, as well as at the door. To find more information on the Spayghetting Dinner fundraiser, go to the UPaws homepage.
