ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Upper Peninsula clerk has been recognized for her work by the Michigan Association of County Clerks.
Delta County Clerk Nancy Przewrocki was named the 2024 Clerk of the Year at the association’s recent annual conference. On Tuesday, the Delta County Commission honored Przewrocki at its regular board meeting.
Przewrocki received a plaque from the Michigan Association of County Clerks and a certificate from Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. She is one of only five U.P. clerks to win the award since 1977, as well as the first from Delta County.
“The award itself, I had no idea—absolutely no idea,” Przewrocki said at the County Board meeting. “My staff and my husband were able to keep it a secret for three months… They were reading off the things about the clerk of the year… I looked at my husband and said, ‘Really?’ and he’s like, ‘Yeah.’ He kind of broke up then, you know? It was a lot of fun, so I really appreciate that. Thank you.”
By the end of this year, Przewrocki will have completed her 24th year as Delta County Clerk. She won the Republican primary race for the position in August, and there is no Democratic challenger on the November general election ballot.
