ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Classes are back in session for students at Escanaba Area Public Schools.
Escanaba Jr/Sr High School has several new faculty and staff members, including a social worker, teachers, aids, and full-time substitutes. Also new this year is Principal Andy Doutree, who comes with more than 15 years of experience working in schools throughout the U.P.
Doutree says he is most excited for the opportunity to work with students as they pursue their goals.
“I want them to be productive members of society,” he said. “I want to make sure that this first year, I can make the relationships with them, that they feel safe, and they can open themselves up. I want to make sure this is a school where they can be themselves and they can become the best versions of themselves they want to be.”
Escanaba Jr/Sr High School is looking for additional substitute teachers to fill in as needed. Click here to learn more about substitute teaching jobs near you.
