MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – So, you think you know Marquette history? Well, a new presentation by two local historians may change your mind. The history duo of the one and only Jim Koski and Jack Deo will reprise one of their most popular presentations.
“Legends and lore” will take the stage at The Lake Superior Theatre Monday night at 7:30pm.
Deo and Koski have collected a number of stories and photos about some of the most colorful characters from Marquette County’s past.
From an NBA game played in Negaunee to the scandalous history of Marquette’s founders landing.
“I think everyone knows the big stories about the fire of Marquette, the iron mines, the natives who lived in the area before the first Europeans came,” Said Koski. “ But these are more of the quirky stories. These are more of the stories that not a lot of people know. and some of them will perhaps amaze you, and some of them will make you go, yeah, that sounds like something that would have happened here in the past,” Said Koski.
