MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Wednesday, the New Dalton Farm, a vendor at Marquette’s Farmers Market has been coming to this market for 10 years. This farm located in Skandia grows chemical-free fresh produce.
The New Dalton Farm is a little under 3-acre farm that grows primarily in hoop houses with a few outside produce. All of its produce is grown chemical-free and with vermicomposting soil.
The New Dalton Farm offered cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, jalapenos, and the fan favorite strawberries at this week’s market. The farm owners shared that they grow day-neutral strawberries which have a longer harvest season and produce more per plant than June-bearing strawberries.
“We just love the people getting to know the people, you know, a lot of them become real good friends along with vendors uh, ya so,” Kevin Keller, New Dalton Farm Owner.
The New Dalton Farm can be found at both Wednesday and Saturday’s Marquette Farmers Market and the Skandia Wednesday Farmers Market from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more information on the New Dalton Farm check out its Facebook page.
