MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Unity Yoga Co-Op moved its free yoga classes to the Founder’s Landing Boardwalk for the Summer season. These donation-based classes are offered year-round usually in the Unity Yoga Co-Op studio located on Washington St however this summer organizers moved them outside.
These free classes started in 2020 as a space for individuals to practice and share spiritual, mental, and physical practices and have grown to a group of facilitators sharing the practices regularly. Organizers share this as a chance to selflessly give back to the community.
“Whether it’s beautiful and sunny and the birds are singing or it’s there’s a little drizzle or there’s overcast it really is nice to be within the changes of nature with a consistent spiritual practice,” Connor Ryan, Marquette Unity Yoga Co-Op founder.
These classes are held outside from June to August then moved back to the Unity Yoga Co-Op studio. Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 8 a.m., Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 9:30 a.m., and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. For more information on classes or other events offered go to the Marquette Unity Yoga Co-Op’s home page.
