MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Hiawatha Music Festival put on by the Hiawatha Music Co-Op kicked off its opening night Friday at Tourist Park. The festival started at 7 p.m. with a square dance workshop followed by 3 bands performing throughout the night.
The square dance workshop was accompanied by the Round Creek String band. At 8:30 the Union Suits hit the stage followed by Joe Hall & the Louisiana Can Cutters to close the house down. All ages came to enjoy, dance, and sing at the Hiawatha music festival.
“Happy Hiawatha everybody” “Ya happy Hiawatha, Hiawatha is cool,” said children attending the Hiawatha Music Festival.
Tickets for the festival are still on sale at the gate by the Jacobetti Complex. For information on this year or the following year’s Hiawatha Music Festivals, check out the Hiawatha Music Festival homepage.
