NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Slap Shot Sandwiches had it’s opening today and it was one to remember. It sold it’s menu out by noon and had to close early.
The restaurant on Iron St. has hockey pucks lining the windows and memorabilia lining the walls.
The restaurants manager, Jacki Lambert, said they wanted the restaurant to reflect their relationship with hockey.
“Hockey and the U.P. kinda go hand in hand,” says Jacki. “We wanted to offer a kinda quirky, kinda throwback vintage diner vibe and make people feel at home when they come in.”
Slap Shot is selling a variety of hot sandwiches including it’s muffuletta, cheesesteak and cudighi. Breakfast is served all day.
Slap Shot sandwiches is open from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
