MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – Spicy Girl Pizza cut the ribbon today after having its soft opening two weeks ago.
The outdoor restaurant behind Superior Culture specializes in thin “cracker-crust” pizza, which the owners Lauren Rowland and Cora Stahl said is almost entirely scratch made.
Rowland said while there are quite a few pizza shops in Marquette, what sets theirs apart is not only the pizza, but also the outdoor atmosphere.
“The inspiration was kind of like a food truck lot,” said Rowland. “You can still get drinks, you can hang out with friends, you can play cornhole, so it just kind of gives you like a fun backyard atmosphere where you come sit at a restaurant and still be served and waited on.”
Spicy Girl will be open Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The owners said they hope to be able to stay open through the winter at an indoor location.
