MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Regional History Center held its first summer walking tour led by Jim Koski. The “Walk on the Wild Side: The Very Historical (Yet Occasionally Sketchy) Story of Marquette’s Founders Landing” tour is a new addition this year.
The tour shared all the phases the area of Founders Landing has gone through, from the Native American villages to Amos Harlow washing up on the lake shore in 1849. Being able to go to the areas and see these historical sites makes the stories feel that much more real, a participant shared.
“I love the chance that I get to research a part of Marquette’s history that I either didn’t know about or I’m discovering new things about it and share that with people,” said Jim Koski, Marquette Regional History Center tour guide.
