MARQUETTE, Mich (WZMQ) – The Marquette community gathered at Forest Roberts Theater to dance and sing along at the Rockestra concert. With songs from Michigan Artists starting in the 1950’s to the 2010’s there was something for everyone.
The Marquette Rockestra started in 2017 as a one-time performance, however after the “one time” they have not stopped since. This concert is a fundraiser for different non-profits every year and a time for the Marquette community to come and jam out. This year all funds collected are going to Music For All Kids, a non-profit organization that provides musical equipment and education to children who don’t have access.
The Rockestra members are very dedicated to the Marquette community which makes this group eager to help a cause.
“We’re all members of the community and we’re all members of various bands and groups and the fact that we all get together as individuals with this big group it’s – what’s really special about it”, Dan Truckey, Marquette Rockestra Coordinator.
