MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – The Marquette City Band will be playing its opening show tomorrow night at the Presque Isle Band Shell.
There will be a variety of styles featured at tomorrow’s show including a traditional piece, a Spanish march, and even a song from a musical.
Steve Grugin, the band’s director and conductor, said they have something special planed to honor the day’s historical significance.
“One of our most meaningful pieces is called Normandy Beach,” said Grugin. “Our concert this Thursday is on the 80th anniversary as you know of D-Day, and I knew about this march and I thought it would be very fitting to play and honor the veterans.”
