Insights: Marquette DDA plans to close portions of Third St. during Music on Third

by Sarah Blakely
June 4, 2024
A A

Marquette’s first Music on Third of the summer is Thursday, June 20. The monthly event happening on the third Thursday of each summer month features local musicians set up in lots and sidewalks along Third St. to serenade the community. The Marquette Downtown Development Authority will now close off portions of Third St. in an effort to keep pedestrians and concertgoers safer.

The DDA will close Third St. between Park St. to College Ave. and between Arch St. to Ohio St. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Music on Third runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Social District will also be extended into the street where the streets are closed.

The DDA will also select this year’s Blueberry Festival poster winner Thursday evening and announce the winner publicly Friday, June 7. Blueberry Festival is Friday, July 26 along Washington and Front Streets.
