MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The American Association of University Women Marquette Branch has opened its annual scholarship application.
This scholarship has been around for years, but three years ago the organization changed it to apply to non-traditional students.
A non-traditional student is someone who is a parent, returning to school, veteran status, or caring for a family member. The scholarships will award a minimum of $1,500 per semester. An AAUW member shared just how close to the organizations heart’s supporting education is.
“For folks who are trying to go back and get their education later in life, every little bit we can offer if important, because we want to see people succeed in their educational goals” said Andrea Ingmire, an AAUW member.
The scholarship application is open now through June 1, 2024. To qualify for this scholarship, you must be enrolled at Northern Michigan University, taking at least 12 credits with a GPA of 2.5.
