HOUGHTON, Mich. (WZMQ) – Past, present, and future Michigan Tech University huskies have a new structure that represents the schools culture and history.
The Alumni Archway was unveiled today and it’s created with sandstone from the central heating plant, and alongside are two copper bars for the copper country. University officials mentioned that it will serve as a reminder of both where the university has come from as well as the work and efforts that have gone into the research by the students.
“I love that there’s so much investment that’s happening in the campus right now it’s just taking our brand as Michigan tech huskies and just elevating it,” commented President of Alumni Association Emily McDonald.
“You know its about tradition and history, it’s about our history and our students understanding that heritage and really appreciating where we came from and where they’re going and taking a piece of that with you ,” commented Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Engagement Bill Roberts.
