MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Northern Michigan University is looking to take the discussion around social media danger into action. The College of Business at NMU is introducing ‘Tap Into Business‘.

Much like ‘Science on Tap’, this event will open up conversations around social media dangers and threats that are ever-changing in the world today. From protecting your online identity to ways data could be bought and sold, NMU business professors urged the necessary to understand how these forums work and the best ways to protect yourself.

“I believe we have an ethical obligation to understand its inner workings so my talk is aimed to define these topics that we hear whether that’s algorithm, data mining, data, I think a lot of people know that these things exist but they don’t know what they are,” commented Associate Professor Dr. Lucy Johnson.

Dr. Johnson will be giving her talk at Blackrocks Brewery on Tuesday, March 19th from 7 PM until 8 PM.
