MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The typical up teams may not have played in the Super Bowl this year but that didn’t stop large crowds from gathering to watch the game.
Bars and Restaurants around Marquette were filled with patrons ready to eat, drink, and cheer on the Niners and Chiefs.
Almost every fan that 19 News spoke to said they were rooting for the 49ers to win the big game. Some were very passionate about seeing the team from San Francisco win the Lombardi Trophy.
“I am the Niners Today, Go Niners!” Remarked one excited Packers fan. “I am rooting for the 49ers, because one of them isn’t dating Taylor Swift,” said another patron. “I don’t like Patrick Mahomes, I don’t like Travis Kelce, and I don’t like Taylor Swift,” commented one man when talking about why he was rooting for the 49ers.
Almost every fan 19 News talked to mentioned how they are hopeful next year’s Superbowl will feature one of the teams from UP North.
