The Culinary Journey makes way back to the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum hosted there 21st annual Culinary Journey!

In this events 21st year, the turnout was great; with a general range of 200-250 people, the event was packed from when it started at 6p.m. to when it started to wrap up around 8p.m..

Each year the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum puts on their Culinary Journey event that features a variety of food and drinks from around the culinary world, and Marquette’s surrounding areas.

For a lot of Marquette residents, restaurants and chefs this event has become a favorite. With only the need to purchase a ticket, ($90 for one and $170 for two) it’s easy to unwind and enjoy the endless food and drinks offered.

“You get to dress up, come out, spend a good night with your friends eating great food and drinking great wine and beer,” Said Jessica Hanley, executive director at the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum. “Just having a wonderful time listening to some great music.”

The restaurants featured at this years Culinary Journey included Lagniappe Cajun Creole Eatery, Mqt. Co-op, Ala Jess, Donckers, Delft Bistro, Strega Nonna, Digs, NMU Dining, Vierling Restaurant & Harbor Brewery, The Landmark Inn, Dead River Coffee, Borealis Baking Co., American Culinary Federation, Mamma Russo’s, Huron Mountain Bakery, 231 West Patisserie, and Cheese Monger.

The event was accompanied by live music from Groove Candy, who played the entirety of the night.

All of the money raised from this event goes directly to the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum general operating fund. This fund helps keep the doors open, and new exhibits and programs running through the museum.
