GLADSTONE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Sunday evening, one Delta County community came together to ring in the new year and to support some of its first responders.
The Brampton Township Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary hosted their annual New Year’s Eve Party at Gladstone American Legion Post 71. For $35, guests enjoyed a meal, drinks, and dancing, with live music provided by The Grand Design Band. Dozens of local businesses donated prizes for various raffles.
The event has been the fire department’s biggest fundraiser for more than a decade. All the proceeds will go toward new firefighting equipment.
“It’s something I look forward to probably almost more than Christmas, I’d say,” auxiliary board member Dominic Young said of the New Year’s Eve Party. “It’s given me some of the fondest memories that I could ever think of. To see everybody always show up in numbers, it’s always been the coolest thing to me. I hope it never stops.”
The Brampton Township Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary look forward to continuing to serve their community in 2024.
